B737 yoke creaking sound...

Post by fpeter » 09 Apr 2019, 15:10

Dear AGRONN Team,

I have an Agronn B737 yoke type "A"
A few days ago I hear a "creaking" (squeak) sound during the aileron function.
I would like to ask you how I can improve this…?
How do I get access to some sort of "oiling" that would solve it…?
If I could get a little drawing or a detailed description of it, thank you very much…

Best regards,
Peter

Following, mine makes a sound in the elevator function. Sounds quite authentic, but I doubt it is meant this way :D

Hi Dirk,

I entrust this to you and your imagination…
It looks pretty poor…
I wrote my problem in the Agronn hardware forum…
Of course you can't imagine that the aileron function can be heard mechanically while moving in the upper part of the yoke ...
Maybe now you understand ... (?)
But if you still don't, look for "sound collection", this sound…
Good luck for that!

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

" I didn't hear that one before." means that I did not hear or read that complaint before. I was not saying (or writng) that I did not hear the crackling noise on the yoke before.
So it could have been a wav.file that was added to the sound package.
Maybe now it is more clear.
Regards,
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

No problem.
Maybe I wrote down "ambiguously ...
This is not a "software sound" ... this is a mechanical operation, a "foreign sound" ...
I just don't understand why the AGRONN company is on the board if I don't get answers for days ...
Email also signaled them a hardware mechanical problem.
No answer for days!

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,
I have the same problem with my Simujabs yoke and it appears to be coming from the return springs for the aileron axis. Agronn yokes are very similar in design so this may be your problem also.
I doubt any oiling will cure the problem but the application of some molybdenum grease to the spring attachment hooks may lesson the noise. You would need to dismantle the yoke to do that though I believe.

Have you contacted Agronn directly because this section on the forum is not an "official" Agronn support forum but merely a mechanism whereby Prosim users can share their own experiences on using Agronn yokes. I doubt if Agronn even look at the Prosim forum, just as most of the other manufacturers don't.

Regards
Ron B

Hi Ron,

Thank you for your advice!
I also wrote here for the forum because, on Agronn's page, you have already answered, Caner Cennetoglu, from Agronn.
I thought (unfortunately) that I am getting a response now.
But, I didn't even receive the email they wrote.
It would be important for me to find where the yoke should be.
Yeah, I thought about "some molybdenum grease"…
This is a problem I can wait for…
Maybe I'll get a response from them once…

Regards,
Peter

Hello Peter,

Thank you for your patience. We haven't check Prosim forum over a week. We are dealing mostly the Prosim related issues in this forum but you are completely right we need to check often for this kind of inquiry. Please send us a video showing the problem and we can check what we can do or what is the main problem.

We are not using springs in our Yokes . It is all dampers.FYI

Best Regards,

Caner
