LG PF1000U ultra short throw projector

Post by OmniAtlas » 23 Feb 2016, 11:02

Hello, I received my projector today, I thought I would share some images. The projector can throw 100" at 38 cm.

Image

I sold my BenQ W1080ST because I didn't want the hassle with mounting. I also wanted the projector for 'cinema night', or movie night -- with the diminutive size, it is possible to move and setup in minutes. LED technology, and expected to last 20,000 hours (20 years so LG says...), with instant on and off.

A quick test to see how the TV mode works (it has a built in TV tuner) --

With ambient light -- and without:

The fan is looking mighty small here.

And a temporary setup with the flight simulator to make sure it works fine --

Wall projection here with no screen.
Not too bad for a few minutes work! I would say the projector works great if you are very limited with space (which I am here in Sydney).

Thx. Like to know what the specs are. LED technology? Is that powerful enough? The last 2 pictures show some strange colouring.

Regards,

Hallo Ben,

Looks very nice. What I like about this concept is that you don't have any shadows from the cockpit enclosure and you can move the picture really down. Unfortunately it is not available in Europe.

Best regards,

Yes, Pim, already found it. Since it's not available in Europe I can skip this one from the list.

Yes, although the LED is only estimated to be about 1000 lumens it is only a short distance from the screen - with the technology it bright even with ambient light.

The colouring is from my iPhone camera - it does not look like that in real life.

Hi Pim,

When I did my research I think it was available on Amazon Germany.

Please note, the Europe and Australian version is the 'dump down' version compard to the US and Korean version - this means no built in apps or the magic remote wand.

I don't care too much about those features because I have a chromecast; it was more important that the digital TV tuner works and I had the local 3 year warranty.
