Magnetic AT & heading/bank switch for MCP

Post by egkkman » 12 Jan 2019, 12:25

Hi,

Can anyone point me to where I can get an auto throttle magnetic toggle switch for my home built MCP (which I'm servicing and upgrading). Probably not an OEM one since it'll cost too much...… :o

Also, I'm trying to find instructions for making a combined encoder and rotary switch so I can add the bank angle facility to my heading knob, any guidance on this will be welcome. I used to have some info on this but seem to have lost it.

Thanks very much

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave,

You can use an encoder with the pushbutton switch cts288 or something as Prosim reads the encoder differently when it is turned whilst being pushed. My MCP is made with this. :D https://prosim-ar.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... der#p20905

The Configuration has it listed and you will see it when looking at the MCP encoder section.
Kind Regards

Bernie.

Hi Bernie,

I hoped you chime in as I recall you made your MCP too. :)

So, with the push button encoder do I simply use the same connections and configure in Prosim whilst the button is pressed?

EDIT: I didn't see your link to the thread (must be going blind). I recall the topic now. You've got a good memory Bernie.

Have you got a mag switch for your MCP?

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave,

Yes that is correct except the two wires which will be attached to the pins on the encoder for the push button of the shaft. :D
Kind Regards

Got it Bernie, thanks.

Going to be dusting off the soldering iron etc. I've held back on maintenance and upgrades because we plan to move house but in UK that can take years (and has so far). I've decided to get on with it!

Thanks again

Dave
